Hummingbird Tarsal Banding Pliers

Purpose-designed banding pliers for hummingbirds, conforming to sizes established in the North American Hummingbird Banding Manual. These pliers are machined and polished from solid surgical stainless steel to a semi-elliptical shape accurate to within 5µm.

The non-springed hinge design allows for maximum feel while banding, with the right amount of feel, or drag, set by hand during assembly. The replaceable closed-cell foam handles ensure a comfortable and secure hold. Opening sizes are engraved and enameled to ensure permanent marking, and the openings' inside surfaces are debured and polished to a high finish to ensure absolutely no pinch or nick hazards on the tarsus.
