Kit types

There are three kits: the Band-makers Kit, the Banders Kit, and the Master Kit.

The Band-makers Kit contains the tools necessary for creating bands from the preprinted sheets provided by the USGS Bird Banding Laboratory, namely the precision banding shear, the band cutter, and the band formers.

The Banders Kit contains the tools necessary to store pre-prepared bands, measure birds, and safely apply bands. This is the band storage pins and stand, the tarsus gage, and the banding pliers.

The Master Kit contains all of the above tools.

Kit tarsal sizes

Each of these three kit types is available in two ranges of sizes: North America Complete (sizes C, D, E, F, G, H, J, L, N, O), and North America Reduced (C, D, E, F, G).

When selecting your kit, please ensure you order the kit with the sizes appropriate to your region. Please refer to the Hummingbird Banders Manual for more information, or reach out to us if you require assistance.

Extended size kits for Central and South America are currently only available by special order, so please contact us.
